Principal Investigator
Prof. Dr. Skadi Loist is an Assistant Professor (Juniorprofessor) for Production Cultures in Audiovisual Media Industries at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF in Potsdam, Germany. Skadi is cofounder of the Film Festival Research Network (FFRN), an Editorial Board member of NECSUS_European Journal of Media Studies, Head of Research for the European Women’s Audiovisual network (EWA) and a former board member of QueerScope e.V., the association of Independent German Queer Film Festivals. Skadi’s main research areas are global film circulation, film festivals, gender equality and diversity in screen industries, and queer cinema.
Postdoctoral Researcher
Dr. Zhenya (Evgenia) Samoilova is a postdoctoral researcher at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. Prior to joining the Film University, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the department of Statistics and Methodology at the University of Mannheim and researcher at the Knowledge Transfer department at GESIS Leibniz Institute of Social Sciences. She received her PhD in Sociology from the Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences. Her research interests focus on integrating various data sources for evaluation of data quality as well as answering substantive research questions. She is specifically interested in working with new digital data sources or so-called organic/passive/big data (e.g. learning analytics).
